Bioscape PRO Canister Filters are built for aquarists who want power and precision without the hassle. Every unit combines advanced multi-stage filtration, a safely integrated heater, and a self-priming design that takes the guesswork out of setup. Dual outlets, optional surface skimming, and 360° rotating valves give you complete control of flow and circulation, while the quiet ceramic impeller keeps performance strong and reliable. Built tough with easy-lift baskets and quick service access, the PRO series delivers crystal-clear, stable water with less effort. This lets you focus on your aquascape rather than your equipment.
Features
- Integrated Heating - Concealed 200W heaters inside the canister deliver consistent, even warmth throughout the tank, keeping equipment out of sight and water temperature stable.
- Advanced Pre-Filter System - A dedicated pre-filter chamber traps large debris before it reaches the main media baskets, extending service intervals and maintaining peak performance.
- Complete Multi-Stage Filtration - Each filter is fully loaded with premium media: mechanical, chemical, and biological — ensuring crystal-clear, healthy water.
- Dual Outlet Flow - Two directional outlets provide customizable water movement, create adjustable circulation in the tank, improving water movement and eliminating dead spots.
- Quick Shut-Off Valve - Simple priming and instant water shut-off make set-up, water changes, and maintenance straightforward — no mess, no fuss.
- 360° Rotating Valve Nozzles - 360° rotating nozzles, allowing you to angle hoses in any direction for a neat, tidy setup and easier positioning inside your cabinet and into your aquarium.
- Easy, Simple Priming - The filter is completely button/plunger-free. Just fill the inlet hose, open the valve, and the canister self-primes automatically — no pumping required.
- Surface Skimmer - Inlet assembly includes a removable skimmer attachment that clears surface film and boosts gas exchange. Install if needed or leave off for a simpler setup.
- Integrated Safety Design - The built-in heater is safely housed inside the canister body, preventing accidental damage. It also features an automatic overheat cut-off for added protection and peace of mind.
- Durable Build Quality - Reinforced housing, robust clips, and silicone seals ensure long-lasting reliability even under continuous use. The easy-lift media baskets make servicing and reloading filter media simple and convenient.
- Quiet, Powerful Motor - High flow rates with near-silent operation deliver professional-grade performance without disturbing your environment. A ceramic shaft impeller ensures smooth, durable, and reliable performance over the long term.
- Designed for Aquascaping - By hiding heaters and maximizing filtration, you can keep the focus on your aquascape, not your equipment.

Start-Up
- Prepare the Media: Place all filter media into the baskets, removing any plastic packaging. Ensure the motor head is correctly seated and the canister is sealed.
- Install the Heater: Remove the shipping stopper from the heater port, insert the integrated heater, and set to your desired temperature. Do not switch it on until water is flowing through the filter.
- Close the Flow Control Lever: Move the blue lever into the closed position. This shuts off flow to both the inlet and outlet.
- Fill the Inlet Pipe: Unscrew the red cap on the inlet bracket. Pour water into the inlet hose until it is completely full, then screw the red cap back into place.
- Open the Flow Control Lever: Push the blue lever forward to open. This will immediately allow water to rush into the canister and fill both hoses. If the outlet nozzles are underwater, you will see bubbles as air is pushed out.
- Start the Filter: Switch on the filter. Allow several minutes for the system to self-prime and purge remaining air. Gently rock the canister from side to side to help release trapped bubbles.
- Activate the Heater: Once the filter has been running smoothly for an hour or so, switch the heater on to maintain stable water temperature.
Maintenance
- Routine Maintenance: Rinse pre-filter wool pads monthly to maintain strong flow. Replace fine wool and carbon every 4–6 weeks. Clean ceramic noodles and bio-balls gently in aquarium water to preserve beneficial bacteria.
- Pre-Filter Access: To open the pre-filter lid, slightly loosen the red cap on the inlet to allow a few air bubbles in. This releases the airlock and makes the lid easier to remove for cleaning or pad replacement.
- Impeller Care: Periodically check and clean the impeller to maintain quiet, efficient operation. Remove any debris or buildup, and rinse gently in aquarium water before reinstalling.
- Service Access: Use the quick shut-off valves to disconnect hoses instantly. The canister lid lifts easily, making media replacement simple and mess-free.
- General Care: Inspect hoses, seals, and clips periodically for wear to ensure long-term reliable operation.
